Trouble recording multiple tracks

when I record a second track over the first, the volume on the second track is very low, except when there is a dead space in the first track. Then it is regular volume.

Hi ja and welcome to the Kristal forum.
It sounds like the same effect as sidechain compression. Have you put any effects on either track?
Not sure what is causing this. What happens when you recored a third or fourth track?

What are your pc spec's, OS, Soundcard etc. This might help us to work it out.

Cheers,
Bob

Are you literately recording OVER the first track, as in recording onto the SAME track as the first one, or are you recording the 2nd track to it's OWN track?

If your recording OVER the first one, that is why this is happening...

hi ja
A reply from you might have been nice. After all, you've had three months, else why did you bother posting?
Take care,
Bri
