Need help!

OK. So, here's my dilemma.

I am not happy with the "presence"/power of my tracks with a single track panning left and one right (clean mode).

If I double the tracks, it sounds too rough. I've disabled my speakers' EQ (not any track EQ) and then it sounds fine. I know my settings are a bit high on the treble, but if I lower them enough for the track doubling to be OK, I cannot enjoy anything else that I listen to.

It would be cool if you guys could tell me what you do with your tracks.

Also, here's both versions:

Please keep in mind that I'm an amateur player who's only had 1 lesson (plus some extra stuff I've yet to utilize from my sister's boyfriend, who is on this track playing lead, who has taken me under his wing for free!).

Also, this is a particularly bad track for rhythm. We need to re-record.

EDIT: I see this post has already generated 7 views! During that time, I have removed the files, then replaced them with chorus-free versions (it sounds better).

Thanks!

How are you recording the guitars? Straight-in or mic'd with an amp.
The melody sounds nice, but honestly someone needs a guitar tuner.

What sound card are you using, and do you have ASIO installed?
